Employee Spotlight:  Kenny Niles: Senior Project Manager

From Databases to Digital Transformation 

Kenny Niles’ journey into the world of IT began at Hunter College, where he studied Computer Science while working with SQL databases and access control at Memorial Sloan Kettering. After graduating, he joined a small managed service provider as a Systems Engineer. There, he quickly rose through the ranks to become Lead Onboarding Engineer—an experience that exposed him to a wide range of technologies, clients, and challenges. Eventually, his path led him to Bit by Bit, where he continues to grow and thrive. 

What Kenny Does at Bit by Bit 

As a Senior Project Manager and Solutions Architect, Kenny plays a pivotal role in managing and maintaining client IT infrastructure. His responsibilities span onboarding new clients, configuring systems to meet unique business needs, troubleshooting technical issues, optimizing networks, and implementing new technologies. “Every day is different,” Kenny says, “and I enjoy the variety of challenges that come with supporting a diverse range of businesses and users.” 

What He Loves Most 

Kenny’s favorite part of his role? The people. “I appreciate the opportunity to collaborate with the talented team at Bit by Bit,” he shares. “I also enjoy making environments and infrastructure better for our clients—and learning new things along the way.” 

A Childhood Dream (and a Mom’s Advice) 

As a kid, Kenny dreamed of becoming a paleontologist. But his mom had other ideas: “There’s no money in dinosaurs,” she told him. Luckily, his passion for technology proved just as exciting—and a lot more lucrative. 

Hobbies, Heroes, and Home Life 

When he’s not solving IT puzzles, Kenny enjoys restoring early computers and tinkering with new tech. His latest project? A fully restored Kaypro II in his basement. He’s also a fan of Spider-Man, the book Metro 2033, and the movie Hercules. His favorite foods are lasagna and hamburgers, and his go-to relaxation spot is his living room recliner—preferably while binge-watching The Muppet Show. 

The Heart Behind the Tech 

Kenny credits his wife as the person he admires most. “I would not be the person I am today without her,” he says. “Her support, wisdom, and sense of humor have been a constant source of inspiration throughout my career and personal life.” Fun fact: Kenny married his high school sweetheart—a love story that’s as enduring as his passion for tech.
