For our Bit by Bit clients who are Mac users, it’s time to do the happy dance.
You have your very own Bit by Bit technician who is an Apple genius. In fact, Christian Cervegnano is his own one-man “Genius Bar” among all our PC and Windows techs.
It was art that brought Christian to technology. After graduating from art school, his first job was at one of the early companies creating hi-resolution prints and film separations near the Flatiron building. They were an all-Mac shop where he had to troubleshoot complex files that failed to print. Since then, he has focused on integrating Apple products in the business world.
A Queens native, Christian now calls Portland, ME home – another Bit by Bit
staffer who escaped the chaos of the NYC to the quiet of farther north when COVID hit. But in taking an earlier break from city living, he embraced a bit more of a tech nomad life, moving his family to Italy, then back to NYC, onto Cape Cod, then Maine, before settling. While working remotely, he landed at Bit by Bit to give voice to the Mac minority where he is responsible for Mac device management at client sites.
At Bit by Bit, Christian is building a framework that will ensure that client computers have antivirus software, meet minimum system requirements, get timely OS updates, and handle Mac escalations. He focuses on proactively maintaining the health of Apple systems and troubleshooting software, computers, and hard drives utilizing Jamf. The gold standard for Apple enterprise management, it connects, manages, and protects Apple users, devices, and services.
“I am a helper. I have expertise in the Apple world and enjoy helping people through technical challenges. I take pride in having a human touch while being patient and trustworthy. Sometimes I just need to figure out why email isn’t working, but others, I help people with sensitive, personal data.”
In his over two decades of experience as an Apple genius, Christian has followed the growth and developments of the tech giant, yet still feels it is more of a niche as most of the world uses MS Windows.
His addition to the Bit by Bit support team hasn’t gone without a few playful jabs from the PC experts. “I had to work to win them over as the lone Mac guy who is trying to convince more people to use Apple. But, in the end, I really like that it’s a small company where everyone is there to help each other out, develop relationships, and work together to give our clients the best services.”
