Thank You to Our Clients Providing Relief to Ukraine

In this time of great turmoil during the Russian invasion of Ukraine, we would like to honor our clients such as HealthRight International and Physicians for Human Rights (PHR) as they provide relief and support to the citizens, organizations, and healthcare workers in the war-torn nation.

HealthRight International
In low-income countries with underfunded parts of health systems, HealthRight International partners with communities to overcome discrimination and marginalization in healthcare and build inclusive systems of care. These include providing equitable access to HIV treatment, mental health services, maternity care, malaria prevention, cancer care, and even the COVID-19 vaccine rollout.

Operating in Ukraine since 2005, HealthRight has 119 dedicated staff (all Ukrainian nationals) working in every region to strengthen the public health system and increase access to quality health services. They provide housing, health care, and social support to over 125,000 people affected by violence in and around the occupied territories.

While staff continues to work remotely under duress because of the violence, they often must flee their own homes for bomb shelters. To mitigate the effects of this violence, HealthRight has established an emergency fund for increasing mental health and psychosocial services for survivors of violence, assist local clinics and shelters, and directly support staff and their families.

Physicians for Human Rights

Working at the intersection of medicine, science, and law to secure human rights and justice, PHR investigates and documents human rights violations, giving voice to survivors and witnesses. They plant seeds of reconciliation by ensuring that perpetrators can be held accountable for their crimes

Currently, PHR is making resources available to advance accountability for war crimes and other violations of the Geneva Conventions in Ukraine. This includes guidance on medical impartiality, forensic photography, preserving chain of custody, and rigorously documenting physical and psychological effects of conflict-related injury.

They promote respect for, and protection of, health care workers in their impartial provision of care and the principle of noninterference with medical services in times of armed conflict and civil unrest.
